Nathan “The Reaper” Rivera always delivers — beatdowns to his opponents and hand-written sentiments to BKFC brass.
The 28-year-old Atlanta product has gone viral a couple times for delivering personal, pre-prepared letters to BKFC Founder/President David Feldman and BKFC Commentator Chris Lytle live on the fight night broadcast.
Moments after stopping Alex Castro at BKFC Fight Night Clearwater, LIVE on The BKFC App from the sold-out OCC Roadhouse & Museum in Clearwater, FL, Rivera revealed that there was a letter taped beneath the seat of Feldman, calling out his next ideal opponent.
“As much as it might seem planned, I kind of just think of these things on the fly and try to have fun with it,” the personable Rivera offers with a laugh.
“Sometimes an idea will pop into my head on fight week, and I just like to give the fans something extra to talk about, put on a bit more of a show for the fans.”
Rivera’s letter in Clearwater, planted beneath one of the most powerful figures in combat sports, called for a shot at unbeaten Canadian Robert Desharnais (2-0) in Canada. BKFC, the world’s fastest growing combat sports promotion, has promoted a pair of sold-out events in Canada, but no future events have been released to the public at this time.
Rivera calls the stacked BKFC featherweight division the deepest weight class in the organization. He’s now 4-0, with all but one of his victories coming by stoppage, and is eager to deliver more statements in the Squared Circle.
“I just want to keep moving forward,” he says.
“The rankings aren’t important to me; I just want to fight. I want to fight often, and I want to fight the best guys they’ve got for me.”
