Rodney Hinton is getting what he asked for.
After recording a first-round finish over Ben Jacobsen in his BKFC premiere on May 2, Hinton made it clear he was looking for a quick turnaround in the Squared Circle.
On Saturday at BKFC 76 — less than two months since his triumphant debut — Hinton returns to action against Darren Whitney at the legendary Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, TX, LIVE on DAZN.
“I didn’t think it would be this fast, but Lord knows I couldn’t be more grateful for it,” the personable Hudson, FL fighter says with a smile.
“I was shadow boxing out in the parking lot right after my fight, I was out running the next day and I was back in the gym the day after that,” he adds. “I didn’t want to give myself any time to be complacent with my win because I know the job is just starting and big opportunities are always right around the corner with BKFC.”
They say everything is bigger in Texas. Hinton hopes that’s true for the statement he intends on making Saturday in Fort Worth.
“I see this fight going a lot like my debut. Not to toot my own horn, but I see myself ending this fight even quicker, actually,” says Hinton, who logged three knockdowns in his 71-second premiere with the world’s fastest growing combat sports promotion.
“This is going to be the biggest event in BKFC history, and I’m ready to steal the spotlight.”
Hinton isn’t looking past Saturday’s assignment. But if everything goes according to plan, he’ll be ready for another quick turnaround in the Squared Circle.
“I’m just a prospect now, but I want to be one of the greatest to ever do it in BKFC, and there’s only one way to do that,” he says.
“Fighting is my job, and I’m here to work.”
