Jeremie “Hit Em” Holloway lived up to his nickname at BKFC 52 on Friday.
For five rounds, the Charlotte, NC fighter poured it on his opponent, UFC vet Cameron VanCamp, in their welterweight clash in Columbia, SC.
Holloway was admittedly a little disappointed he didn’t finish VanCamp, but he did take home a one-sided win by unanimous decision – good for the first victory of his BKFC career.
Holloway shared a majority draw with Will Santiago at BKFC 48, so you couldn’t blame him for not having full faith in the judges’ scorecards. It turns out that wasn’t the case on Friday night.
“There was no doubt in my mind,” he says.
“From the first round on, I was pouring it on him more and more in terms of my output and my striking percentage was going up. There was no doubt in my mind; I even had my hands up before they read the scores.”
Holloway left the Squared Circle healthy and looking for a quick turnaround. The former MMA fighter is happy with the pace of his transition to bare knuckle fighting, so he wants a fight that’s going to land him a spot in the Top 5 rankings of the stacked BKFC welterweight division.
“I’m ready for whatever,” he says.
“A year from now, I want to be in title contention.”
