The unbeaten Hasan Al-Ghanim is seizing the moment with BKFC

August 1, 2025

Hasan Al-Ghanim is dialed in to add to his BKFC highlight reel in his rapidly approaching return to action.

On Aug. 9, the undefeated Canadian lightweight contender looks to climb to 4-0 with a third KO victory at the expense of Zach Pannell at the iconic River Cree Resort & Casino in Al-Ghanim’s hometown of Edmonton, AB.

“I see this fight playing out the same way as I always envision my fights — me winning by knockout,” Al-Ghanim says.

“There’s not much more to it — my goal in every fight is to win by knockout and give the fans an exciting and memorable moment.”

Al-Ghanim is 3-0 since signing with BKFC, with all of those victories coming in 2024. He’s eager to keep climbing in 2025. Al-Ghanim isn’t looking past Pannell, but he already has a second target in his sights for this year — former BKFC World Championship challenger Louie Lopez.

“It wouldn’t be a smart career move for him to agree to fight me,” he says. “But if he made the mistake of signing that contract, I know that I’d knock him out just like everybody else.”

Al-Ghanim is hungry to test himself against the best 155-pound combatants on the BKFC roster, with the intention of becoming the first Canadian fighter to win a BKFC World Championship.

“This weight class is shaping up to be a really, really deep division, but I’m ready to work my way up the rankings and eventually bring home the belt,” he says.

“I just want to make the most of my opportunity.”
