Elvin Brito loves bare knuckle fighting.

“This sport is just different,” the long-time, fan-favorite Brito says with a smile.

“There are a lot of athletes who come from MMA or gloved boxing, but when you do your first bare knuckle fight, it doesn’t matter where you come from. It’s great that they have that experience, but you’re an amateur when you start in bare knuckle, regardless of your experience elsewhere because this is just so totally different from what else is out there.”

Few fighters have accomplished more with the world’s fastest growing combat sports promotion than Brito, who in 2022 became the inaugural BKFC World Welterweight Champion. 

“To be good in BKFC requires a combination of characteristics that is quite rare,” he explains. 

“Bare knuckle fighters are a rare breed — especially those of us who have stayed here and made BKFC home. You can’t just use your athleticism to get through this sport. You have to be an athlete, yes, but you have to have skills — and you have to have balls.”

Brito makes his 13th trip to the world-famous Squared Circle on Saturday at BKFC 79 at the legendary Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, SD, LIVE worldwide on DAZN. He takes on Brandon Meyer.

Brito’s prediction for Saturday is simple — a big knockout and a big step closer to adding another BKFC World Title belt to his collection.

“I love fighting, and I’m grateful that I can still compete at a high level after all this time. I’m having fun out there, but I’m fighting to be a World Champion,” Brito says.

“I only fight to reach the No. 1 spot. I don’t fight just for fun or for social media. My plan is to win and make another run for the belt.

“I know that I can still be a BKFC World Champion, and I’m going to prove it with this fight.”
