Wanya Reid goes for 3rd straight win at BKFC 80

August 26, 2025

Wanya Reid is eager to make up for lost time.

After nearly 15 months on the sideline, the Jamaican-born, Broward County, FL product returns to action on Sept. 12 at BKFC 80, LIVE worldwide on DAZN from the iconic Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL.

Reid, 29, is looking to smash his way to 3-1 under the BKFC banner with a third straight victory at the expense of Paulo Games. Reid’s only loss came in his BKFC premiere against former BKFC World Lightweight Title challenger Tony Soto.

While Reid hasn’t been able to compete as much as he’d like, he’s still been hard at work in the lab, helping teammates like Howard Davis prepare for their BKFC battles.

“I was hoping to be a lot more active. A fighter’s worst enemy can be inactivity if you don’t put your time to good use, so I was definitely looking for a quicker turnaround,” Reid says.

“I’ve been waiting as patiently as possible, and I’m just ready to put on a show.”

Reid isn’t looking past his next assignment in Hollywood, but he’s hoping to be a lot more active in the future.

“After this, I’d like to fight at least once more before the end of the year, and I’d really like to fight four times in 2026,” Reid says.

“My goal is to fight the best guys in the division and be recognized as one of the best fighters in the sport. I don’t want to just be another fighter on the roster; I’m with BKFC to be a superstar.”
