JOE RIGGS

Joe ‘Diesel’ Riggs is a BKFC OG having made his debut appearance at BKFC 3 where he defeated Brok Weaver over a tough-fought 10 minute war. He went on to toe the line against some of the best in the game including Lorenzo Hunt, Josh Dyer and Hector Lombard. Riggs went on a bit of a hiatus after his no contest with Josh Dyer in 2022 and made his return at BKFC 63 in Sturgis.

Outside of the BKFC, Riggs has an extensive MMA record having fought at the highest level for a long time in promotions like the UFC, Strikeforce, WEC Bellator and more. The New Englander has racked up a massive record of 50-18-1 over an 18 year period, something rarely done. After the MMA days were over, Riggs dabbled in boxing, grappling and kickboxing but decided bare-knuckle was the best hit for his skillset and it’s hard to argue after seeing his performances.

Joe Riggs faced MMA legends like Chris Lytle, Nick Diaz, Matt Hughes, Jason Von Flue, Diego Sanchez and much more. Funny enough, he also faced UFC referee Herb Dean whom he defeated via TKO in round one back in 2003.

Riggs used to be a bodybuilder weighing over 300 pounds and gained a reputation in the gym for being a world-beater. He slimmed down to fight most of his high level career at welterweight but has fought as high up as heavyweight in the past. Riggs also gained a reputation for being a no-nonse kind of guy outside of the cage, or in our case the Squared Circle, having some high profile scuffles with Nick Diaz and Lorenzo Hunt along with some others.

Riggs is still a dangerous man 41 and will continue to be so until he decides to hang 'em up for good. Until then we are excited to see a legend work and expect violence and some controversy when ‘Diesel’ throws down.
