Danny ‘The Bastard’ Christie got his professional start in the BKFC but he’s been fighting since he was a kid both underground and in amateurs. He grew up tough and has said himself that he never had any aspirations as a kid but he’s found his purpose through his sobriety after a long, dark period. “I liked thieving, fighting, I liked girls,” he said about his childhood. You want to not like the guy because of his past mistakes but he really tries his best to be the best man he can be and he is dedicated to his craft.

He felt at home when he first stepped into a boxing gym at 11 years old and grew maybe too much confidence in his fighting skills. When he realized he could use his boxing in street fights, he’d go looking for trouble and found it often.

Christie tasted defeat as a professional for the first time at the hands of Jared Warren. That loss broke his heart to the core and he considered retiring saying that if anyone ever outclassed him, he’d walk away. Thankfully that feeling lasted less than half of a year and as the UK light heavyweight champion, the sport of bare-knuckle would miss him greatly should he have left.

When Christie fights, you’re witnessing greatness. His boxing skills are top-notch and whoever he fights respects his power greatly. He will usually be the aggressor backing up his opponent and looking for the night ending shot which he tends to find later in fights. He harnesses all of his past trauma and unleashes his emotions on whoever stands opposite of him. Look forward to some solid performances from this absolute beast of a fighter.
