We asked BKFC's biggest stars for their New Year's resolutions

Happy New Year!

We asked some of the biggest stars on the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship roster if they’re making New Year’s resolutions heading into 2024.

James “Get Down” Brown: I usually don't have a New Year’s resolution, but I'll do it this year. In 2024 I'd like to get my first knockout in the Squared Circle. I've gotten a decision win and I've gotten a doctor stoppage. Next time, I gotta sleep someone.

Zach "Shark Attack" Calmus: I don’t have any New Year’s resolutions, but I do have a few major goals for 2024. I feel like I need to shoot high and even if I miss I’ll be amongst the stars. I want a world title shot at heavyweight and to be the BKFC World Heavyweight Champion.

Trukon "The Carolina Gamedog" Carson: I have a couple of New Year’s resolutions. One is to make even more money, achieve more financial freedom so that I can quit my job and fully focus my free time each day on training and fighting. Second is to challenge myself more and push myself to an even higher level in combat sports. Last but certainly not least is finding a Latina baddie. That pretty much it!

Joseph “Dark Knight” Creer: My New Year’s resolution for 2024 is to continue to advance through the ranks, fighting the fights necessary to be able to fight for the BKFC Championship before the end of the year. Secondly, I’m working to attain my second master’s degree in sports management. Lastly, I will strive to give myself more free time and live a little.

Ja'Far Fortt "Knox": I believe that each and every one of us holds power. In order to unlock your power, your strength, you have to look within. Moving forward into the new year, I will be doing more looking within. 2024 is a year to strive for greatness. Anything that is inadequate or less than greatness, gets no energy.

Devin Gibson: I’d like to travel and experience as many new things with my son as we can this upcoming year and to pick up some new/old hobbies – planning to get back on the ice for some hockey. Approaching my 30th this year so these thoughts have been circling (laughs).

Jeremie "Hit Em" Holloway: My resolution is to be even more active and double the amount of fights I’ve had thus far.

Tony "The Way" Jenkins: I don’t have a resolution. Whatever goals you have in your life, start now. Every day you push, you get closer to your goal. That’s why I keep pushing myself – that’s the only way.

Blake "Big Boy" LaCaze: This year I’m looking to be back in contention for the belt and avenge some losses and show why I’m a problem in the BKFC middleweight division.

Michael "Papa G" Larrimore: My New Year’s resolution is to make more money than I know what to do with, giving me the ability to take my wife out of work and give back to my community. I will have at least one belt around my waist before 2024 is up.

Erick "El Travieso" Lozano: My New Year's resolution is to grind as hard as I can to make 2024 the year I become a BKFC World Champion and help as many people as possible on the way up! LFG!

Luis “Baboon” Palomino: My New Year’s resolution is very simple. Give me the fights I want, or I won’t fight at all. Mike Perry, you’re next.

Crystal “The Rugged Beauty” Pittman: This New Year is living in the moment, this year is Goddess vibes and this year is #BABSZN!

Keith "The Rockstar" Richardson: I’ve never been big on New Year’s resolutions because if there is something that needs to change, I try to change it immediately. Not wait for the date to change. But New Years is a good time for reflecting on the past year and evaluating things. And speaking of the date changing I guess my resolution is to try and remember to put 2024 on paperwork and not continue to write 2023 until March (laughs).

JR "The Lion" Ridge: My New Year’s resolution for 2024 is to be better at not being a fat kid in between fight camps (laughs). Real talk though every time I set foot in the gym I’m looking to avenge my loss against John Dodson.

Jimmie “El Terror” Rivera: My resolution for 2024 is to fight some big names and to capture the BKFC World Featherweight Championship belt.

Esteban "Mohawk" Rodriguez: I completed last year's resolution of fighting three times in 2023. 2024 is going to be the best year of all my 31 years alive. I plan on opening up my team Mohawk ranch that will be home for TeamMohawkMMA LLC headquarters, which will consist of a recovery facility, intense combat sports training and positive empowerment. This will secure me becoming BKFC World Champion and I can use my earnings to help communities and fighters all over the world chasing similar dreams.

“Big” Ben Rothwell: Win the BKFC World Heavyweight Championship. Go to as many live events as the champion as possible to be with the fans. Put more time into social media to interact with our amazing fans and spread the word of all the incredible things BKFC is doing.

Tony "Loco" Soto: Looking forward to the new year to bring more challenges, more victories, the success of my new gym to continue to grow and get a title shot. Continue to grow as a person, a fighter and a father.

Kai "Hefty Bag" Stewart: My New Year’s resolution is to hit an extra gear in my training and actually start trying now. I want the big names, I want the big money fights, and the only way to do that is to get better. By the end of 2024, I will be the face of BKFC.

Austin “No Doubt” Trout: My New Year’s resolution is simple. I’m going to be the BKFC World Champion this year.
