Red-hot James Brown riding high after BKFC 41

James Brown is on fire after big win at BKFC 41

James “Get Down” Brown is on fire.

At BKFC 41 on Saturday, the Wilmington, NC fighter smashed his way to 2-0 in the BKFC Squared Circle with a second-round TKO victory over former WBO boxing champ Mike Alvarado in Alvarado’s hometown of Denver.

Prior to signing with BKFC, Brown was on a seven-fight winning streak in his MMA career. All of those victories came by stoppage – including six fights that Brown ended in less than a minute.

Brown is quick to deflect praise to his coaches and training partners, but he says there’s a simple explanation for his impressive winning streak.

“My whole game is to hit and not get hit. If you can do that in the Squared Circle, you’ll be succeeding. I feel like this sport was made for me,” he says.

“A lot of guys say they’re made for this because of their toughness, but you don’t have to be tough if you’re not getting hit.”

Brown wants to keep the good times rolling, preferably next against an opponent listed in the Top 5 BKFC featherweight rankings, like the No. 5-ranked Rusty Crowder (4-4, 3 KOs).

Brown’s goal for 2023 is simple.

“I’d like to be the BKFC Featherweight Champion.”
