John Michael Escoboza approaches fighting like a Liam Neeson movie.
“As soon as my opponent signs his contract, it’s as if I’ve just been informed that an assassin has signed a contract to kill me,” he says. “So my whole mentality is prepare and kill this assassin before he kills me.”
Escoboza is in the final stages of preparing for battle with Esteban Rodriguez (2-0, 2 KOs) at BKFC 49 on Friday in Miami, LIVE on The BKFC App.
“The vibe is time to kill,” he says. “‘That’s the best way to describe it.”
The 33-year-old Tamarac, FL product enjoys the whole process of preparing to throw down. But it’s hard to top the feeling of entering the Squared Circle, so he’s counting down the seconds until Friday night.
Escoboza sees fight night playing out in one of two ways.
“I’m either going to make him quit early, or there’s going to be a ridiculous amount of damage on his face and body if he doesn’t quit early,” he says.
“He hasn’t fought anybody or trained with anybody who’s on my level, so it’s going to be a rough night for him,” he adds. “This is gonna be a wake-up call.”
