Jarod Grant's confidence is unmatched

Life comes at you fast in the BKFC Squared Circle.

In March of 2022, 23-year-old Jarod Grant made history as the youngest athlete to ever win a Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship World Title. Grant lost his belt four months later to Reggie Barnett Jr., and followed that up with a dreadful cut to 125 pounds and a first-round stoppage loss to John Dodson at KnuckleMania in February.

Less than 18 months after making history, Grant is now looking to avoid a third straight loss when he takes on former title challenger Frank Alvarez at BKFC 49 on Aug. 25 in his hometown of Miami, LIVE on The BKFC App.

It’s natural to question a fighter’s confidence after suffering back-to-back losses, but Grant scoffs at the notion.

“Thanks to my coach, Ryan Perez, my mental fortitude is indestructible,” he says. “There’s nothing in this world that can discourage me from getting my title back and continuing my career as one of the best fighters to ever compete for BKFC.”

Grant kicked off his bare knuckle fighting career with four straight stoppage victories, earning him his history-making title shot in 2022. He says history will soon repeat itself in the Squared Circle.

“I still feel like the champ; I’m going to go out there and make a statement to the 135-pound division that I’m back,” Grant says.

“I’m going for the knockout, it can’t go five rounds,” he adds. “I’ve got to make a statement that I’m back – Jarod 'Kid Gatti' Grant is back!”
