2023 has been a great year for Howard “HD” Davis.

On Friday he improved to 3-0 on the year with a 72-second stoppage victory over Jeff Chiffens at BKFC 49 in Miami, LIVE on The BKFC App. Both of the Plantation, FL featherweight’s other wins this year have also come by finish.

“HD” says the next step in his career is clear – a shot at undefeated BKFC World Featherweight Champion Kai Stewart.

“This is the most active I’ve been and the most dangerous I’ve been – this is my time,” says Howard, who now boasts a record of 5-1-1 (4 KOs). 

“If you look at records and past opponents, I’m the featherweight who’s fought the best competition. The only person close to me is Brandon Allen. Other than that, nobody has a resume close to mine.”

Davis says the judges won’t be necessary when he toes the line with Stewart, who’s undefeated with a pair of finishes in his four BKFC fights.

“If I don’t get Kai out of there in the first round, there’s no way it goes later than the third,” he says. 

“If he thinks he can outwork me in the clinch, he’s sadly mistaken, and he can’t box me from the outside – that’s something he cannot do. Once I figure out his timing, he’s going to run into something and I’m going to get him out of there.”
