Howard “HD” Davis’ journey to the BKFC World Featherweight Championship has been temporarily diverted.
After the Plantation, FL product notched his second straight stoppage victory at BKFC 45 in June, he hoped his next fight would be against Kai Stewart, the current title holder at 145 pounds. Instead, “HD” returns to action against Jeff Chiffens at BKFC 49 on Aug. 25 in Miami, LIVE on The BKFC App.
“We’ll see what happens with the title picture, but I’m not going to sit on the bench and not get paid and not get the experience while waiting for Kai to get ready,” says Davis, the No. 2 contender at 145 pounds.
“I’m grateful for every single opportunity with BKFC because I want to be a very active fighter – the most active fighter.”
The plan, Davis says, is pretty simple – keep stacking bodies on the doorstep of BKFC Matchmaker Nate Shook until a title shot is undeniable. Davis is coming off back-to-back stoppage victories, and he predicts that trend will continue in Miami.
“This fight will go exactly how I hope it will, and my goal is nothing less than another knockout.”
