Steve Herelius dreams about bringing the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship Squared Circle to his home country of France.
“That would make me so happy,” the former World Boxing Association champ says with a big smile. “That would be a dream come true.”
But Herelius, who lives and trains in Miami, knows that if he wants to help usher the world’s fastest growing sports promotion into his country of birth, he has to keep on winning.
His pro boxing record is 21-5-1 (12 KOs), and he’ll try to climb to 2-0 in the Squared Circle when he takes on fellow heavy-handed heavyweight Josh Copeland in the Co-Main Event of BKFC 50 on Sept. 22 in Denver, LIVE on The BKFC App.
Herelius and the UFC vet Copeland both have dynamite in their hands. Interestingly enough, however, Herelius doesn’t necessarily anticipate a knockout in Denver.
“They want to see the knockout in bare knuckle, but I like to play with my food,” the personable big man says. “When the cat sees the mouse, he likes to play with it a bit before he pounces. I enjoy doing that as well. I’m not looking for the KO; I like to play.”
