Dameko Labon changed his life in 21 seconds.
At the inaugural BKFC Prospect Series event on Thursday, Labon earned a multi-fight contract with BKFC following his 21-second KO over Justin Watson in his hometown of Miami, LIVE on The BKFC App.
“It feels awesome,” the 22-year-old bantamweight prospect says after signing on the dotted line on his new contract with the world’s fastest growing combat sports promotion.
“I was starting to get a little antsy backstage before the fight because I was ready to go out there and show what I’ve got – I knew it was my time.”
Labon rose to the occasion in Miami. After passing his first test with flying colors, he’s ready for his next challenge in the Squared Circle.
“Whoever they give me, I’m ready," he says. "I’m locked and loaded. Whoever they put me in there with, it’s going to be the same outcome. I’m ready to display my skills again and put on another dominant performance.”
Labon has high hopes for his BKFC career, but he pauses for a second when asked about his goals for the next 12 months.
“That’s a good question,” he says.
“I’m just taking it one fight at a time, and doing everything I can to move forward in my career.”
