Philadelphia, PA (April 14, 2023) Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), The World’s Fastest Growing Combat Sports Promotion, has announced the withdrawal of Former Professional Boxer Jamie Cox from the main event against Former BKFC World Title Challenger Elvin ‘El Bandido’ Brito at BKFC-40 Leeds, UK.
The new main event at BKFC-40 Leeds UK on Saturday, April 22, emanating from Planet Ice Leeds, is the highly anticipated light heavyweight clash between undefeated cross-country arch-rivals, Anthony Holmes, (4-0-1), of Castleford, Yorkshire, United Kingdom and Danny Christie, (2-0), of Carlisle, United Kingdom.
“It’s unfortunate that Jamie Cox had to withdraw from the main event as Elvin Brito was ready to rock next Saturday night,” said David Feldman, President and Founder of BKFC. “However, the show goes on with a sensational must-see light heavyweight clash between Anthony Holmes and Danny Christie.”
“Holmes and Christie both have scored sensational knockouts in their prior BKFC fights and we expect fireworks from the first bell for this highly entertaining, high-risk, high reward, matchup.

The popular Anthony Holmes hits the BKFC ring once again following an impressive debut; a fourth-round knockout of previously undefeated Darren Hendry. Prior to his BKFC debut against Hendry, Holmes had built a record of 3-0-1 in regional bare-knuckle battles. The hard-hitting Christie has scored knockouts in his first two BKFC starts; a second-round stoppage of Terry Brazier on August 20, 2022 at BKFC’s debut United Kingdom event and a first rounder against Darren Godfrey Jr. on November 26, 2022.
