After 37-second KO in BKFC debut, Chris Camozzi takes aim at double-champ Lorenzo Hunt

October 17, 2022

Thirty-seven seconds is all Chris Camozzi needed for his BKFC debut at BKFC 31 on Saturday in Denver.

Only one fight from Saturday’s card ended faster than Camozzi’s KO over fellow UFC vet Bubba McDaniel in their cruiserweight matchup. But 37 seconds was actually longer than the 19-time UFC vet pictured his highly anticipated debut taking.

“I was looking for a quicker finish, honestly. I thought it was going to be a trainwreck collision right off the bat,” Camozzi says with a laugh.

“I had a blast. I loved it,” he adds. “I was excited, I was looking forward to it. Even warming up in the back, I couldn’t wait to get in there.”

Camozzi wants to return to the Squared Circle in 2023. As for the opponent, he’s setting his sights to the top of the rankings – Lorenzo “The Juggernaut” Hunt, the BKFC World Cruiserweight Champion and BKFC World Light-Heavyweight Champion.

“I’m 35. I’ve been fighting forever. I don’t want to spend a bunch of time waiting around. I think my debut was exactly the type of performance everyone was looking for. I’m new blood in the cruiserweight division," Camozzi says.

"As far as I can see, Lorenzo Hunt is the best to do bare knuckle fighting so far, and I only want to fight the best. He’s a great fighter, but I bring a lot of experience to the table, and I’m ready to go.”
