Rodolfo Rubio is a Mexican mixed martial artist with an extensive grappling background. The majority of his wins have come by submission which indicates he will be pressure heavy and focus a lot on counter striking. He has been known to throw powerful overhand rights from his orthodox stance and pursue relentless ground and pound once in control from top.
Rubio’s professional MMA record sits at 19-13-1 as he made his BKFC debut where he main evented against fellow Mexican, Luis Rey Gallegos. A majority of his recent fights have taken place in the popular Latin American MMA promotion, Lux Fight League. He has also fought in the XFL and had a single bout in the UFC back in 2014. Before that, Ruiz made it to the semi finals in the featherweight division on The Ultimate Fighter where he represented Cain Velazquez. He lost to UFC featherweight contender Yair Rodriguez.
Mexican fighters are known to have a true warrior’s spirit and immense pride in their culture and people. Rubio supports all of his fellow Mexican fighters and gives them constant shine on his social media. Expect a fighter that refuses to quit and will bring 100% of his game from bell to bell. Rubio will always look for the finish in every one of his fights and would rather entertain than look for the easy way out.
