Hailing from Maywood, Illinois, Martez McGregor grew up in a tough environment where many of his childhood friends ended up behind bars. Determined to take a different path, McGregor turned to fighting as a positive outlet and now steps into the ring carrying the motivation of those who never got the same opportunity.

A standout athlete in baseball and football, McGregor's competitive drive eventually led him to combat sports after being kicked out of college and looking for a way to get back in shape. He began boxing at 19 and quickly made a name for himself, winning two Chicago Golden Gloves titles and earning three national bronze medals. He also tested himself in a handful of cage fights before finding his true calling in the fight game.

A father of five, McGregor says all he wants to do is fight. Known for his work ethic and confidence, he prefers to let his performances speak for themselves. With a loyal support system, including Gogo—whom he considers a brother—McGregor believes fans will connect with his story, his heart, and the way he competes every time he steps into the ring.
