UFC and PFL veteran, Aspen Ladd has been to a very high level in the MMA world. Many people think she may have been cut from the UFC a little early after losing former bantamweight champion Raquel Pennington and future title challenger Norma Dumont. She also went the distance with current UFC women’s bantamweight champion, Kayla Harrison which most women can not say.
Early in her career which began in 2013 at the amateur level, Ladd went six years with just one loss to another UFC level fighter in Cynthia Calvillo. She is not a point fighter that looks to pitter pat her way to a decision win. Actually most of her MMA wins came by T/KO and came over fighters like Lina Lansberg and Yana Santos.
The biggest critique that MMA fans had about Ladd was that she wasn’t always mentally in the game. She could look like a world beater one night and then not get out of first gear the next, but she has grown up fighting at a high level so expect that final piece to click in the Squared Circle. With all the pieces in place that a fighter needs to succeed, Ladd could give the women’s featherweight division a lot of problems in the very near future.
