ALESSIO SAKARA

Alessio Sakara is an Italian combat sports legend with experience dating back to 2002 at the highest levels of MMA. with a 20-13 overall record in the sport, he’s faced the likes of Joey Beltran, Chris Weidman, Houston Alexander and many more. He’s also fought in boxing and kickboxing matches with his focus on striking and looks to enter yet another sport in bare-knuckle fighting. Legionarius as he’s known makes his BKFC debut against Erick Lozano at BKFC Fight Night Philly on July 25, 2025.

*Being a UFC and Bellator veteran, the bright lights don’t phase 43 year old veteran. He’s been training since he was 11 and actually thought he would be a professional boxer but turned to MMA after realizing that boxers in his home country of Italy don’t make enough money for his overall goals. It turns out that was a good career choice for him as he had an illustrious career.

Throughout Sakara’s career, he fought at light heavyweight but made a move to middleweight in hopes to find more success than he had found in the years prior to his move down. After his UFC career, he made it known that he was not able to put his best foot forward at 185 pounds and chose to continue at 205 which is where he will fight in the BKFC. Before his return to combat sports, Sakara had a five-year layoff but enters the Squared Circle less than a year after fighting for the first time without gloves. We should see a revitalized version of the dangerous and experienced fighter on July 25.
