Being a humble and extremely coachable martial artist, Gabrielle Roman entered the BKFC with a short notice draw against Khortni Kamyron. That didn’t sit right with the New Jersey native and after getting a full camp for her second fight, she faced Martyna Krol and closed as a +600 underdog before ending the fight via TKO in the first round. She and her team were not surprised whatsoever with the results and in fact expected them despite no one else giving her a chance.

She credits her gym just as much as herself with that win and diligently follows their game plan in and out of fight camps. She follows a strict diet year round leaving her ready at all times and because of this, she quickly earned a shot at the number one contender in the women’s flyweight division. Fighting in a co-main in just your third fight is something we rarely see and it’s safe to say with one of the biggest upset wins in BKFC history under her belt, she’s earned her spot.

Roman has a solid “all the way in or all the way out” style as many shorter fighters do. She had actually planned to fight in the strawweight division but having both of her fights take place a weight class up, she has decided to see just how high she can rise at 125.

Interestingly, Roman was taught to fight orthodox when she was younger despite being left handed. As she’s learned more about boxing she has incorporated the more natural feeling southpaw stance and has become an excellent switch-stance fighter. Gabrielle Roman has two boys and dedicates every fight to them as well as the rest of her family and Jesus Christ. Growing up, she would see her mother being abused and this motivated her to learn to defend what she loves.
