Connor ‘Brum town Bomber’ Tierney began his professional bare-knuckle fighting career in 2019 but the journey began much earlier in life on the streets of Birmingham, England. He specifically grew up in an area called Weoley Castle which has a high violent crime rate. This environment taught him how to fight and he did so all the time, for both protection and for fun with friends and siblings.
Tierney struggled to get to the BKFC, not for lack of skills or ability, but because opponents kept falling through. This happened so much that it got to the point where he considered retiring and actually told himself, "if one more fight falls through, I’m done.” It wasn’t until he got a fairly short notice opportunity to fight up in weight against his now friend, the always game and talented Jeremiah Riggs. Tierney made an excellent showing of himself that night, defeating Riggs by TKO at the end of the fifth round.
Expect Connor Tierney to be on a lot of BKFC’s UK cards in the future. He’ll tend to fight towards the end of the night having shown a proven skill level and ability to draw a crowd. He will face Jonny Graham on August 10, 2024 in a UK welterweight title bout, his first opportunity in the promotion to be a champion.
Tierney is a father and has a girlfriend who he is very close with outside of fighting. He also works a full time job as a quantity surveyor when he isn’t training to become ‘the best in the world.’
