Trevor Loken needed just 40 seconds for his BKFC debut.

On Friday, he scored a lightning-fast TKO over UFC vet Marcus Brimage at BKFC 35 in Myrtle Beach, SC.

“It wasn’t a very technical performance,” he says with a laugh, “but I guess it doesn’t have to be too pretty as long as I get the job done and I don’t get hurt.”

Loken is 5-0 with five stoppage victories as an amateur MMA fighter. He says he’s stronger on the ground than he is standing, but that would come as a surprise to those who watched his BKFC debut.

Loken will soon make his professional MMA debut, but he says fans can expect to see him back in the BKFC Squared Circle.

“I wanted to do bare knuckle fighting more than MMA when I started fighting,” the 25-year-old Raleigh, NC featherweight says. “(Bare knuckle fighting) is as real as it gets. It’s as close as you can get to a fist fight without taking it to the street, and I love that about it.”
