Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship has fans and fighters from all around the globe, but it’s impossible to ignore the United Kingdom as a rising superpower in the world’s fastest growing combat sport.
Here are five fighters from the United Kingdom that we know our North American fans would love to see compete stateside in the Squared Circle in 2023 on the BKFC app.
DANNY CHRISTIE
Danny Christie is 2-0 with a pair of impressive stoppage victories in his first two trips to the BKFC Squared Circle. His resume includes a 67-second KO via uppercuts over Darren Godfrey in November in Newcastle and a unanimous decision at BKFC 27 in August over Bellator vet Terry Brazier at OVO Arena Wembley in London. The heavy-handed Carlisle, England fighter would be an intriguing addition to the BKFC light-heavyweight division.
ANTHONY HOLMES
Anthony Holmes made a major statement in his Squared Circle debut in November when the Castleford, England fighter defeated Darren Hendry via fourth-round KO to win the inaugural BKFC United Kingdom Cruiserweight Championship. The BKFC cruiserweight division is one of the most stacked in the organization, and all the top stateside contenders would love a shot at the champ from overseas.
JAMES LILLEY
James Lilley hails from Swansea, Wales, but made his BKFC debut in April in Fort Lauderdale. “Lights Out” needed just 40 seconds to finish American Adam Pellerano in his debut. He followed that up with a unanimous decision victory over former BKFC title challenger and United Kingdom fan-favorite Tyler Goodjohn. Lilley is the No. 3-ranked BKFC lightweight, so he’s closer than anyone to becoming the first UK fighter to win a BKFC World Championship.
MICK TERRILL
Mick Terrill is the best heavyweight in the United Kingdom, and the North Shields, England big man has the prowess and power to be an immediate title contender in the stacked BKFC heavyweight division. Despite falling short in his Squared Circle debut against BKFC Heavyweight Champion Arnold Adams, Terrill has rebounded with back-to-back stoppage victories over Americans Sam Shewmaker and Steven Banks in England.
CONNOR TIERNEY
Fast-rising welterweight contender Connor “Brum Town Bomber” Tierney made a splash in his stateside BKFC debut with a KO over Jeremiah Riggs in March, and he followed that up with a one-sided victory over American fan-favorite Joe Elmore at BKFC 27 in London. Tierney has massive star potential and a fan-friendly fighting style to keep pace with his personality.
