Tony “Loco” Soto improved to 6-0 in the Squared Circle at BKFC 52 on Friday in Columbia, SC.
He extended his epic winning streak with a one-sided, unanimous decision victory over the previously unbeaten Kevin Croom in their lightweight matchup at Colonial Life Arena.
With Friday’s win, the Hickory, NC fighter joined Luis “Baboon” Palomino (9-0) and Gorjan “GoGo” Slaveski (6-0) as the only fighters in BKFC history to win their first six bouts in the Squared Circle. However, the notoriously nonchalant Soto doesn’t place any importance on the latest rare milestone he’s cruised past.
“Absolutely nothing,” he says with a laugh when asked what it means to him to be 6-0.
“It’s literally just another fight. I don’t pay any attention to my record or let any of that stuff get to me. I just take every fight one at a time, step by step.”
Soto believes he’s done enough to earn the next shot at Palomino, the defending BKFC World Lightweight Champion.
“I want to fight Luis. I don’t like him. I want to hit him. I want to hurt him,” Soto says.
Soto says there are two possible outcomes for a possible showdown with Palomino, the only fighter to ever grace the No. 1 spot on the BKFC Pound-for-Pound rankings.
“It’s either going to be a unanimous decision with me picking him off, or I’m going to end it within three.”
