Taylor Starling has redemption on her mind.
After earning her fifth BKFC victory in the Co-Main Event of BKFC 79 on Saturday in Sturgis, SD, Starling hopes her next assignment in the Squared Circle is a rematch with BKFC World Women’s Strawweight Champion Britain Hart.
“One of the only goals I have left is getting the title, and I don’t think there are any other fights that really make sense for me right now. All I’ve done throughout my whole career is fight the best of the best, and I don’t see why now should be any different,” Starling says.
“I want Britain next.”
Starling and Hart first met at the inaugural BKFC event in Sturgis last summer. Hart won by decision in the evening’s Main Event, defending her crown for the third time.
The 29-year-old Rock Hill, SC strawweight contender sees a potential rematch playing out a lot differently than her first meeting with Hart at the iconic Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
“I’ve gotten way better (over the last year),” Starling says.
“Everybody seems to just focus on the physical aspect of the sport, but they forget that I’m young and I’ve gotten so much better mentally and I’ve grown so much as a fighter.
“I’m not this young, angry, pissed-off kid anymore. I’m a woman coming into my prime. This is the best I’ve ever felt, and I feel better with each and every fight.”
