Hardcore fans rejoiced when it was announced Rico “Bon Bon” Franco had signed on the dotted line with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.
BKFC, of course, is the fastest growing combat sports promotion in the world, and Franco has previously established himself as one of the top bare knuckle fighting prospects from outside of North America.
Franco brought an impressive 6-2 record into his BKFC debut earlier this year, and he’s since racked up back-to-back stoppage victories since joining the big show.
“It always feels good to win, but winning on the biggest platform in the sport feels even better,” the fast-rising Franco says. “Getting the win is important, but getting the stoppage is a whole different feeling.”
On Saturday, Franco goes for his third straight finish against Kaleb “Lionheaert” Harris (6-4) in the BKFC 46 Main Event in Newcastle, UK, LIVE on The BKFC App. Harris is the No. 3 contender in the stacked BKFC welterweight division and the former title challenger is also riding high after back-to-back stoppage victories.
Franco is eager to take out the fan-favorite Harris and place his name in consideration for who is the best 165-pound fighter on the planet.
“I’m expecting another big finish, and I’m hoping it puts me in the Top 5,” he says.
“I’m ready for a title shot.”
