Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, the world’s fastest growing combat sports promotion, breaks historic new ground at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT on May 11.

It would be impossible to have a proper New England debut without the presence of lifelong New Englander Zach “Shark Attack” Calmus, who proudly hails from Gloucester, MA.

“I’ve got a big opportunity here at BKFC 61 to represent my home region, and compete in front of my friends and family. This is the biggest fight of my life,” says Calmus, who will be hunting for his third straight stoppage victory against Connor McKenna in heavyweight action.

“I used to go to Mohegan Sun to watch fights with my dad, and I always told him that one day I’m going to fight here. It’s just an amazing opportunity.”

Calmus believes New England can become a hotspot for BKFC, similar to how it has caught fire in other markets around the world.

“That’s up to me and the rest of the athletes here to make that happen,” he says.

“I think a man is only as strong as the men who stand next to him. The men and women of New England are very tough, and we appreciate toughness. We see all the seasons. I think bare knuckle fighting can really take off here, and I’m going to do absolutely everything in my power to make that happen.”
