Jared Warren responds to Mike Perry: "It Wouldn’t Go The Distance"

Christmas may have come early for Jared Warren.

On a recent episode of Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour, the biggest show in combat sports, “Platinum” Mike Perry told Helwani that he could see himself sharing the Squared Circle with Warren in 2024.

“If I was gonna fight for a BKFC belt, I would want it to be the 185 belt. I do like Jared Warren. He recently fought in England against the UK’s 185 champ (Danny Christie), and he easily beat him,” the undefeated Perry said with the BKFC King of Violence Championship belt over his shoulder.

“(Warren) carries himself like a champion,” he added. “If I was going to unify my belt with that type of belt, that’s the belt that I would go after – the 185. I felt I had a lot of power there. I have the power that the big guys have.”

That’s music to the ears of Warren, who’s been known as one of the heaviest hitters in the stacked BKFC 185-pound weight class since his bare knuckle fighting debut in 2019. Warren previously called for the next shot at Lorenzo “The Juggernaut” Hunt, who currently holds the BKFC World Light-Heavyweight Championship, but he’s certainly open to throwing hands with Perry, the highest-profile fighter on the BKFC roster.

All but one of Warren’s six BKFC victories have come by stoppage, so the Tampa, FL fighter doesn’t think the judges’ scorecards would be necessary if he and Perry have their chance to dance in the Squared Circle.

“I see it playing out like most of my wins. I can easily put anyone away in the first couple rounds if they’re willing to engage with me, and Mike Perry loves to come forward. He also claims he likes to get hit, but I’ve had a lot of opponents say that, and it hasn’t worked out too well for them,” he says.

“I can say with confidence that it wouldn’t go the distance.”
