James “Lights Out” Lilley won big at BKFC 36 on Friday.

Lilley, the No. 1-ranked contender in the stacked BKFC lightweight division, earned a TKO victory over the No. 3-ranked Bobby “ODB” Taylor in New Orleans, LIVE on The BKFC App.

With the victory, Lilley improved to 3-0 under the BKFC banner, and 8-0-1 overall, firmly staking his claim as the lightweight division’s No. 1 contender.

Friday was the biggest night of “Lights Out” Lilley’s blossoming career, but the dynamic Welsh fighter is keeping his success in perspective.

"My performance was only slightly above average – maybe a six (out of 10),” the unbeaten Lilley says in retrospect. “I wasn't happy with it; I got into my own head.”

Still, Lilley believes he’s done enough to earn the next shot at Luis “Baboon” Palomino (8-0), the defending BKFC World Lightweight Champion.

His prediction for a showdown with Palomino is simple.

"It will go the same as the others – I will find a way to win,” he says, adding, “The belt is just a good necessity, but being the best in the world means more.”
