Harris Stephenson wants to kick off title run with a big win in BKFC 30 rematch

Harris "Sandman" Stephenson is good with his hands.

He's proven to be a quick study in the world of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, boasting a record of 4-2 with a pair of KOs since his 2018 debut. Prior to transitioning to BKFC, Stephenson was also a dangerous MMA fighter. It might surprise fans to learn that Stephenson was known more for his grappling than his striking in the cage. Four of his six pro MMA wins came by submission.

"Bare knuckle fighting has really helped me evolve as a technical striker. I'm probably well-rounded now to the point that I can do MMA as well as I can do bare knuckle fighting. But over the past few years, I've focused much more on BKFC than MMA, so my striking has probably finally surpassed my ground game," said Stephenson, who's also preparing for an MMA title bout this fall.

Stephenson is ready to showcase his handiwork once again at BKFC 30 on Oct. 1 in Monroe, LA. He takes on Kaleb Harris in a highly anticipated rematch, LIVE on the BKFC app.

The pair first met at BKFC 5. Stephenson defeated Harris via split decision in an exciting, back-and-forth battle. Stephenson prides himself on finishing fights, and his bout with Harris was the first time in his career that the judges were needed to decide a winner.

While he's obviously happy to have his hand raised by any means necessary, Stephenson wants to erase any doubt that might naturally arise from a close decision. At 33, Stephenson says the time is now to make a run to the top of the BKFC welterweight division.

"My expectation is to get this win, make a statement, and make my run for the title," he said. "I've never been more motivated than I am now, and I've reorganized my schedule so I can get training in and make a run for the belt."
