Chris Fishgold is excited to start the next chapter of his fighting career in the BKFC Squared Circle.

The former British national MMA champion with Cage Warriors most recently competed for the UFC. Unfortunately for Fishgold, his final fight with the UFC left a bad taste in his mouth after missed weight, lost the fight by Unanimous Decision and then parted ways with the promotion.

“I had a pretty heavy heart after my last MMA bout. It was very upsetting how my time with the UFC ended,” Fishgold said heading into his highly anticipated BKFC debut against Jake Bostwick at BKFC 27 at OVO Arena Wembley on Saturday, LIVE on the BKFC app

Thirteen of Fishgold's 18 professional MMA victories came by submission, so some might be surprised to see him take his talents to BKFC. But he says they shouldn't be too shocked.

"You know what's funny? I have a stand-up background. I even lived in Thailand for two years. I just got into the wrestling and jiu-jitsu because it was easier to win fights that way," he said with a chuckle. "Striking has always been my first love."

Fishgold’s four UFC fights took place in four different countries. He’s fought on some big stages, but he says nothing compares to Wembley.

“Some people say they can’t wait to fight in Las Vegas or at Madison Square Garden, but absolutely nothing is bigger than this for me,” Fishgold said. “Absolutely nothing is going to compare to fighting at Wembley.”
