Esteban Rodriguez wants to inspire fans on his road to BKFC gold

July 10, 2025

The Michigan fighter still has many big goals with BKFC

Esteban Rodriguez is back.

After 18 months on the sideline due to a pulmonary embolism, the fan-favorite cruiserweight contender makes his hotly anticipated return to the Squared Circle on Saturday at BKFC 78. He takes on the unbeaten Julio Perez (3-0) at the legendary Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL, LIVE worldwide on The BKFC App.

Rodriguez was told by doctors that his fighting career was over, but that wasn’t an acceptable prognosis. He’s had a long road back to the ring, and finally he’s back on center stage with the world’s fastest growing combat sports promotion.

“I’ve told you guys since the beginning and I’ll tell you again — I am the future BKFC World Cruiserweight Champion. It’s just a matter of time, and I won’t be stopped by anything in my path,” the affable Grand Rapids, MI product says with a big smile.

“I’m feeling better than ever right now.”

As much as Rodriguez loves fighting for BKFC — and he still has big goals with the organization — he’s now fighting for an even bigger calling.

“I found a reason, and this is bigger than me now,” he says.

“I fight for the people, and to give them the motivation to chase their dreams. If they see me achieving my goals, with everything I’ve been through, I hope that that inspires them to go out and work for what they want.

“If you can see it in your head, you can hold it in your hand. If you have that faith in yourself, anything is possible, and I’m just ready to show out.”
