Edgard Plazaola fights to win

Edgard "The Dream Killer" Plazaola always enters the BKFC Squared Circle with one goal – victory.

“I’m a winner. I’m a fighter, but I fight to win,” Plazaola says.

“There are a lot of BKFC fighters who love to fight and get in there and fight their hearts out, but I get in there to win.”

The Nicaragua-born Miami product accomplished his objective once again on Friday at BKFC 57, when he improved to 2-0 in the Squared Circle with a first-round TKO over Darrick Gates in their featherweight battle at the sold-out Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL.

“I want to be as active as possible, so I’m already looking to the future,” he says. “I’m happy to be 2-0, but I can’t wait to get back in there.”

Plazaola would like to compete as many times as he can in 2024. BKFC, the world’s fastest growing combat sports promotion, is currently promoting must-see events scheduled across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Bulgaria.  Why not Nicaragua next, Plazaola offers.

“That would be a dream – that would be amazing,” says Plazaola, who moved to the United States as a teenager.

“I believe that my country needs good representation of our culture. We’re very hard-working people. It would be an honor to headline a card in Nicaragua.”
