Miami’s Christine Vicens is off to a hot start in her Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship career.

At BKFC 57, the hard-hitting flyweight contender is looking to climb to 3-0 in the Squared Circle as she takes on Sydney “Sundance” Smith (1-1) on Feb. 2 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL, LIVE on The BKFC App.

Vicens is still fairly early in her journey with BKFC, but she’s been preparing for this moment for more than 15 years.

“This journey started a long time ago,” the 38-year-old Vicens says with a laugh. “I started kickboxing to get in shape. I didn’t do any sports growing up, but I was curious about it, and I learned quickly how much I loved it.”

Vicens went on to become a Golden Gloves national boxing champion. Motherhood put a pause on her fighting career until she went looking for an amateur MMA fight in 2019.

“Nobody wanted to fight me because of my boxing experience, so my manager asked me if I wanted to go pro and take a bare knuckle fight. Nobody was going to fight me as an amateur MMA fighter anyway, so I said we may as well do bare knuckle and we dove right in,” Vicens says.

“I didn’t really know what I was getting myself in to, but I’m pretty adventurous, so I didn’t hesitate.”

Vicens finished Jade Masson-Wong in her debut at KnuckleMania 2, and is coming off a victory over UFC vet Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger at BKFC 34. Vicens is off to a terrific start in her BKFC career, and it’s even more impressive because she balances fighting with motherhood and owning her own construction company in Miami.

“I’m older in the sport, I’m a mother, I’m a wife, I’m an entrepreneur – and I still manage to follow my dreams and not make excuses,” she says.

“I just want to be a positive influence and show what you can accomplish when you work hard, have the right mindset, and have a good team around you.”
