Charisa Sigala eager to build legacy at historic BKFC event in London

Charisa Sigala is ready to throw down.

She takes on Paige VanZant in the BKFC 27 Co-Main Event on Aug. 20 at Wembley Arena in London, LIVE on the BKFC app. It’s been nearly six months since her most recent bout – a hard-fought majority draw with Angela Danzig in March – so fight night across the pond can’t come soon enough.

Sigala loves fighting, but there’s more to it than that.

“This event is going to be a big part of BKFC history, and I’m really excited to be a part of it,” Sigala said from Albuquerque, NM, where the California product is preparing for her fight at Jackson Wink MMA Academy.

“Fighting at Knuckle Mania in 2021 made me a part of that historic event. I didn’t fully recognize the significance of that in my debut, but I’m very aware of it heading into London. This is another huge opportunity to be a part of BKFC history.”

To put it plainly, Sigala is training her butt off for London. She’s doing everything she can do batter VanZant and have her hand raised in victory. Earning her second BKFC win later this month would mean the world to Sigala. But, as a mother, she’s fighting for a lot more than wins on her resume.

“Being a part of history, and having that legacy, is important to me because of my kids,” Sigala said. “For example, hearing my son talk about his wrestling, and asking me how I do what I do in front of so many people, it gives him that confidence in himself and in his sports.

“That means the world to me.”
