Orlando, FL (November 3, 2023) Friday night in Orlando, FL, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), The World’s Fastest Growing Combat Sports Promotion presented BKFC-53, a sensational ten-bout event in front of a packed house at the Orange County Convention Center.

Fighting in the main event, David ‘The Redneck' Mundell, (8-1) successfully defended his BKFC Middleweight World Titlewith a second-round stoppage of previously undefeated, #2 Ranked Challenger Doug ‘CodeRed’ Coltrane, (3-1).

Dropping Coltrane with a big left hand in the opening stanza, the southpaw Mundell would aggressively pressure the challenger to open the second round. Sending Coltrane to the canvas again, Mundell earned the victory as Coltrane would not beat the count. Time of the stoppage was 1:23 of the second round.

Said the victorious Mundell, “I started a little slow due to his height and length but I was able to sort that out and hurt him. Where you at Mike Perry?”

In the highly anticipated co-feature, BKFC fan favorite Julian ‘Let Me Bang’ Lane, (5-7), stopped Murat Kazgan, (1-1) in an action-packed welterweight clash. Recovering from being dropped in the second round from the heavy-handed Kazgan, Lane would be declared the victor when the ringside physician stopped the bout in the third round (1:53) due to a bad cut over Kazgan’s right eye.

“I’m very thankful to be back here at home in BKFC,” said Lane following the fight. “I’m the real King of Violence.”

Fighting in the heavyweight division, southpaw Sawyer Depee, (4-2), knocked out Jonathan Miller, (2-1), at the end of the first round with a massive left hand.

Competing in an excellent light heavyweight battle, Diego Romo, (0-0-1) and Ravon Baxter, (1-1-1) fought to a majority draw. Romo was able to work his way back into the fight after being dropped in the second round. Scores were 48-46 for Romo and 47-47 twice.

BKFC debuting featherweight Nathan Rivera, (1-0), impressed quickly with a first-round knockout of James Hyder, (0-2). A vicious right to the body knocked Hyder to the canvas. Time of the stoppage was 1:21.

Light heavyweight Mike Heckert (1-0), dominated and stopped Scott Lampert, (0-1), earning the victory at :53 of round two. Lampert was knocked down three times in the first round before the corner stoppage.

Kicking off the main card, BKFC newcomer Dagoberto Aguero, (1-0) thrilled the crowd with a third-round stoppage of Chancey Wilson, (3-3) in their flyweight division battle. Both fighters displayed excellent bare-knuckle skill sets prior to Aguero’s one punch knockout.

About Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC)

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) is the first promotion allowed to hold a legal, sanctioned, and regulated bare knuckle event in the United States since 1889. Based in Philadelphia, and headed by President and former professional boxer David Feldman, BKFC is dedicated to preserving the historical legacy of bare knuckle fighting, while utilizing a specifically created rule set that emphasizes fighter safety. BKFC holds all of its bouts in a revolutionary circular four-rope ring, designed to encourage fast-paced and exciting bouts. The patented BKFC “Squared Circle” contains scratch lines, based on the Broughton Rules which governed bare knuckle fighting in the 19th century, and which requires fighters to “Toe the Line”: start every round face to face, and just inches apart.

In BKFC, only those fighters who are established professionals in boxing, MMA, kickboxing, or Muay Thai are allowed to compete. The referees and judges are required to have extensive professional combat sports experience. All fights are held under the auspices and control of an Athletic Commission. Unlike other fighting organizations and combat sports internationally which claim to be “bare knuckle”, but require wraps, tape, and gauze; BKFC is true to its word as fighters are not allowed to wrap their hands to within one inch of the knuckle. This makes BKFC unquestionably the truest form of bare knuckle fighting. BKFC is dedicated to not just creating the safest, most exciting, and highest-level bare-knuckle fighting organization in the world, it’s also leading the way for a new fully recognized professional combat sport. BKFC is truly the sport of the future, which fully respects its remarkable past.
