Albuquerque, New Mexico (August 10, 2023) Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), The World’s Fastest Growing Combat Sports Promotion, held the Final Press Conference for BKFC-48 on Wednesday afternoon in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Hosted by David Feldman, President and Founder of BKFC, among the participants were John ‘The Magician’ Dodson, JR ‘The Lion’ Ridge, Bryce Hall and Gee ‘The Cutman’ Perez. Also present were trainers for Hall and Perez, Two-Division BKFC World Champion Lorenzo ‘The Juggernaut’ Hunt and Top-Rated Cruiserweight Contender Chris Camozzi who will battle in the main event at the just announced BKFC-50 event in Denver, CO.

Local favorites and top undercard fighters also meeting the media were undefeated bantamweights Keith ‘The Rockstar’ Richardson and Derek Perez in addition to unbeaten middleweights Joshua Moreno and Jeremy Sauceda.

Below are quotes from the participants;

David Feldman

“I love it here in Albuquerque, I come from Philadelphia which is known as the fight city of the United States but Albuquerque blows it away. I’ve never seen the energy from the fighters and fans as we have here. The fighters come to fight and the fans are unbelievable, I love coming back here. It’s really our home away from home for BKFC. The commission here in New Mexico has been great to work with and we have big plans in 2024 for this state.”

“In addition to being shown for free on the BKFC App and Fubo Sports, this event will also be shown in 42 different countries. Also, limited tickets are still available at BKFC.com.”

John Dodson

“My experience gives me an edge in this fight, I’m the most dangerous fighter he’s fought. The pressure is off me and I’m confident of victory on Friday night.”

JR Ridge

“Fighting in the first 125lb. BKFC World Title Fight is an honor and with a legend like John Dodson for that strap, I’m excited to showcase my skills on Friday night.”

Bryce Hall

“Last fight I focused on the entertainment aspect, this time I focused on the training. I’m apologizing in advance for turning Gee Perez into a meme from this fight.

Gee Perez

“It’s personal in the fact that he thinks he can come in here and just take over the game. He doesn’t know what it means to be on a real journey in this sport.”

Keith Richardson

“Both of my previous fights in BKFC I’ve shown different aspects of my game. When I fought Justin Scoggins, I got to show what kind of dog I have in me. In this fight I’m planning on showing how skilled I am in this division and how I can put guys away if they’re not on that skill level.”

Derek Perez

“It’s just another day in the office for me. I don’t know how to have a boring fight and expect more of the same from me on Friday night.”

Jeremy Sauceda

“I love coming in from out of town. We’re all warriors, we’re here to put on a show, do something great, show something great.”

Joshua Moreno

“It’s extremely exciting for me to fight in my hometown and I’m very grateful to BKFC for this opportunity. All my MMA fights have been won by knockout and I honestly feel bare knuckle is the sport for me. The Mexican dog in me comes out and my opponents can’t weather the storm.”

Lorenzo Hunt, Trainer of Hall

“It was a great experience to train Bryce Hall in Los Angeles. He trains very hard and is smart about his preparation for this fight. I think we’ll be in for a surprise on Friday night.”

Chris Camozzi, Trainer of Perez

“We’ve all seen it already, Gee has a ton of bare-knuckle experience and I’m honored that he asked me to train him. He’s put the work in and puts on highlight reel performances in his fights.”

BKFC-48 will be broadcast FREE on the BKFC App and Fubo Sports starting at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT.

BKFC-48 is headlined by a sensational main event with local all-action attraction, #2 ranked John ‘The Magician’ Dodson, (2-0), battling #1 ranked JR ‘The Lion’ Ridge, (3-1), of Tampa, FL for the first ever BKFC Flyweight World Championship. About Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC)

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) is the first promotion allowed to hold a legal, sanctioned, and regulated bare knuckle event in the United States since 1889. Based in Philadelphia, and headed by President and former professional boxer David Feldman, BKFC is dedicated to preserving the historical legacy of bare knuckle fighting, while utilizing a specifically created rule set that emphasizes fighter safety. BKFC holds all of its bouts in a revolutionary circular four-rope ring, designed to encourage fast-paced and exciting bouts. The patented BKFC “Squared Circle” contains scratch lines, based on the Broughton Rules which governed bare knuckle fighting in the 19th century, and which requires fighters to “Toe the Line”: start every round face to face, and just inches apart.

In BKFC, only those fighters who are established professionals in boxing, MMA, kickboxing, or Muay Thai are allowed to compete. The referees and judges are required to have extensive professional combat sports experience. All fights are held under the auspices and control of an Athletic Commission. Unlike other fighting organizations and combat sports internationally which claim to be “bare knuckle”, but require wraps, tape, and gauze; BKFC is true to its word as fighters are not allowed to wrap their hands to within one inch of the knuckle. This makes BKFC unquestionably the truest form of bare knuckle fighting. BKFC is dedicated to not just creating the safest, most exciting, and highest-level bare-knuckle fighting organization in the world, it’s also leading the way for a new fully recognized professional combat sport. BKFC is truly the sport of the future, which fully respects its remarkable past.
