Andy Nguyen is moving fast, but she’s not in a hurry.
After starting her BKFC career with back-to-back wins, she tries to improve to 3-0 against the debuting Sydney Smith at BKFC 42 on May 12 in Greenville, SC, LIVE on The BKFC App.
A victory will improve Nguyen’s BKFC record to 3-0, and could possibly place her above Jenny “Savage” Clausius (3-2) as the BKFC strawweight division’s No. 1 contender.
Nguyen wants big fights, but a showdown with current BKFC World Strawweight Champion Britain Hart (7-3) doesn’t seem to pique her interest.
“I don’t want to fight for the belt any time soon. Britain has 10 BKFC fights under her belt; I’m not ready to fight her. We’ve trained together; I helped her prepare for her last fight,” Nguyen says.
“And I have a problem fighting people I like; I won’t put myself 100-percent out there, and I just can’t hit them as hard as I want to.”
Nguyen respects Smith, but she’s ready to swing for the fences in her native South Carolina.
“This is going to be a very exciting fight for the fans.”
