With a combat sports career that began professionally in 2011, Desi Johnson has fought in boxing, MMA, kickboxing and Muay Thai matches. The 6’0” striker prefers to keep things on the feet and that’s why he joined us in the Squared Circle at the BKFC’s first ever event in his home country of Canada. The Winnipegger has more MMA experience than a typical prospect with 10 fights and he’s also older than we would typically see for a debut. The ‘79 born welterweight made a move down to 145 to fight Robert Desharnais at BKFC Fight Night Prospects, Edmonton.
Johnson will always try to use his lanky frame and technical striking to get his hand raised and it will be interesting to see how the fight veteran does in the organization. It’s worth mentioning, besides the 10 MMA fights there are six boxing matches under his belt. The other two sports he tried were one-offs.
