James Rumley aka JR Rumley cut his teeth in the world of combat sports in amateur MMA back in 2011. He spent most of that career fighting for amateur titles and winning four of seven of those ammy belts.
Once Rumley turned pro in 2014, he realized a lot of the same success going 4-4 and winning a Fire & Ice title before stepping into the squared circle . Fire & Ice FC is a Virginia regional promotion. He had his second MMA title shot in Ring of Combat but was submitted in round one.
Upon making his BKFC debut, he has MMA experience against a high level bare-knuckle fighter in James Brown who he submitted in round one, and that was his most recent fight before toeing the line minus the gloves. *He does not have an easy debut against the highly skilled and experienced Brennan Ward but watching his bare-knuckle career develop in a competitive division will be a treat for BKFC fans.
JR Rumley has a majority of his wins in MMA by submission but has demonstrated knockout power and shown the ability to go the distance.
