The Brazilian born BJJ ace, Felipe Maia relocated to Madrid, Spain and has been fighting in several European MMA promotions ever since. As he entered the BKFC, Maia held a 15-8-0 record with three knockouts and 12 submissions dating back to 2013. Looking through his former opponents and their records, the guy has faced some serious talent including Mateusz Rębecki who is looking great in the UFC.
Maia debuted in the Squared Circle back at BKFC Bulgaria 1 in November of 2023 where he defeated Martin Stoichkov by round 2 TKO. He brings in extensive fight experience across four sports, MMA, Kickboxing, boxing and of course BJJ. He will have higher fight IQ than most of his opponents because of that experience and although BJJ seems to be irrelevant in any type of striking sport, it helps fighters to learn how to set up a finish.
Maia is influenced by some of the all time brazilian greats of their craft like Charles Oliveira and Renzo Gracie.
