Dominick Carey made his professional debut in BKFC and made good on his inaugural performance albeit with controversy. Going by ‘The Bomb,’ would imply that he has big time stopping power in his hands but we have seen more of a technical and intelligent approach from Carey since the amateurs.
He holds a record of 2-3 in amateur MMA and both wins came via rear naked choke. When he faced fellow debutant Angelo Trujillo back at BKFC 50, he won via illegal strikes by his opponent early in round one after he took a strategic knee to regain composure. His opponent threw repeated illegal strikes and somehow they didn’t put Carey out but it leaves some question marks on that win nonetheless.
Carey has a karate style but obviously won’t be able to use those kicks. He will alternate a plodding, move forward style with bouncy footwork depending on what his opponent gives him and fight mentally just as much as he will physically.
Carey became the AKBF (USA Karate Promotions LLC) amateur flyweight champ in August of 2022.

Rules
Fighters are permitted to wrap and tape the wrist, thumb, and mid-hand. No gauze or tape can be within 1 inch of the knuckles.
Fighters will “Toe The Line” There are two lines, three feet apart, in the center of the ring where the fighters will start each round. The front foot will be on the line, and then the referee will instruct the fighters to “Knuckle Up” this means the beginning of the round/bout. More »
