Danny Hilton made history at BKFC 56.

At the sold-out event Saturday at the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, Hilton became the first fighter to ever have their hand raised in victory in a sanctioned bare knuckle fight in the beautiful state of Utah.

The Prescott Valley, AZ fighter accomplished the feat with a first-round TKO victory over LJ Schulz in their lightweight matchup.

The significance of the historical moment isn’t lost on Hilton.

“Initially I was supposed to be the second fight, then they switched it. I couldn’t believe it when they told me – that’s so cool,” Hilton says with a smile.

“Going into the fight, I knew I had to set the pace for this historic card – I really wanted to make a statement and get the crowd going from the first bell.”

Now with his first victory under his belt, Hilton wants to keep growing with BKFC, the world’s fastest growing combat sports promotion. As happy as he is to set the stage in the first fight of the night, Hilton sees BKFC Main Event showdowns in his future in the Squared Circle.

“I want to be the champ, for sure,” he says. “That’s within reason that I could be the champ at 145 pounds at some point down the road, so that’s exactly what I’m going for.”
