Brandon “The Shredder” Shavers is eager to make up for lost time.
After nearly a year on the sideline, he makes his hotly anticipated return to action in the Main Event for BKFC Prospect Series at the Salisbury Center in Manassas, VA on Feb. 16, LIVE on The BKFC App. He takes on hometown fan-favorite Stanislav Grosu (3-2) in middleweight action.
“I’m very excited,” the 29-year-old Jena, LA fighter says. “It’s been 11 months since I’ve been in there, and I’m moving up a weight class, so I should be in better condition, more powerful and more exciting.”
Shavers isn’t looking past Grosu, who he lauds for his skills in the Squared Circle, but he plans on being a lot more active in the new year.
“I’m looking to jump right back in there if I don’t have any injuries,” he says. “I’m looking to fight at least five times in 2024. Of course there are a lot of variables, but that would be ideal for me.”
Shavers knows he can cover a lot of ground in the stacked middleweight division with a couple more stoppage victories in the Squared Circle.
“If I can get five wins, I’ll be defending my belt two or three times,” he says with a laugh. “I’m ready for whoever they’ve got for me.”
