Austin “No Doubt” Trout is ready to take a bite out of the biggest fish in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship ecosystem – Luis “Baboon” Palomino.
Trout and Palomino will lock horns in the Main Event of BKFC 57 on Feb. 2 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL, LIVE on The BKFC App.
Palomino is undefeated in his nine trips to the BKFC Squared Circle (the only BKFC fighter to ever accomplish that feat). He is the only fighter to ever hold the top spot on the BKFC Pound-for-Pound rankings.
But ever since Trout signed with BKFC, the former World Boxing Association champ made it clear that he wanted to be known as the best bare knuckle fighter on the planet. He jumped at the opportunity to share the Squared Circle with the iconic Palomino.
“I love this matchup,” Trout says. “My goal is to beat the best. Whoever they claim to be the best, that’s who I want next. Thank God it worked out – we’ve got Palomino next.”
Trout’s professional gloved boxing record is 37-5-1, with 18 of his victories coming by KO. He has tested his skills against several other world champions, like Canelo Álvarez, Jermell Charlo and Miguel Cotto. His BKFC record is 1-0 after he defeated UFC legend Diego Sanchez via TKO in February.
Trout respects Palomino for his one-of-a-kind BKFC resume and historic winning streak, but the Las Cruces, NM-born Houston fighter says all good things must come to an end.
“I’m the most elite fighter that he’s stepped into the ring with,” Trout says. “If ‘The Baboon’ tastes that jab and doesn’t engage, I might just have to stalk him down while he tries to survive. If he’s as confident as he says he is and he brings it, it’s going to get stopped.
“He better run.”
