BKFC rankings are generated by a group of panelists from the media. Panelists are asked to vote for the top bare knuckle fighters
by weight class and pound-for-pound, regardless of weight class. A bare knuckle fighter must be considered active in order to be ranked.
Fighters can be ranked in more than one weight class. BKFC belt holders can be ranked in the pound-for-pound category, but in each weight
class the champion and interim champion are automatically ranked at the top of their division. Fighters are dropped from the ranking voter
rolls after 12 months without a bout.
The BKFC rankings panel was officially convened for the first time after BKFC Fight Night New York 2. Media members are writers from across
the combat sports publications and represent the opinions of a variety of professionals examining a rapidly evolving sport.
