Crystal ‘Bear’ Lawson was baptized by fire in the world of MMA with her first pro fight being against none other than Alex Pereira’s sister, Aline. You’ve likely seen the memes about the Pereiras and what a hell of a way to step into the octagon as a new fighter looking to climb the ranks. Now, this was back in 2019 when the mainstream combat sports consumer had no idea who Poatan was but it goes without saying now, let’s let that loss by Lawson slide.
Despite having a not-so-shiny record professionally, it’s clear that Lawson is striving to improve and carve a path to the top of the BKFC strawweight division. No one can say that she isn’t dedicated to the craft and at 34, she is at a prime age to get towards the top in bare-knuckle boxing.
Lawson was initially set to make her BKFC debut with her significant other, Kevin Brooks in Manassas, VA. but Brooks had to pull out. The couple loves one of the greatest dog breeds to ever walk this earth, Pit Bulls! Lawson shows off her dogs on her Instagram.
